South Africa vs Bangladesh T20 Highlights – Nov 2 2021

South Africa can be a strong contender in the race of the semi-final. Especially after their performance in the last match against SL, where they were chasing 142. South Africa played three matches before today’s match and won two of them. Bangladesh lost all three matches and they are out from the race of semi-final but still, they can upset any team. Head to head six t20I’s has been played between South Africa and Bangladesh, all of them won by South Africa.

SA vs BD Highlights Today, Tuesday 2-11-2021. 30th Match, Group 1, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup South Africa vs Bangladesh, from Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

Bavuma have won the toss, decided to bowl first.

Temba Bavuma says: “This wicket looks a bit different to the others we’ve played on. Looks like it will assist the quicks upfront.” South Africa are unchanged.
Mahmudullah says: “Of the three games we played, we were close to winning two. Having said that, it’s time to play for our pride now.”
Two changes for Bangladesh. Shamim Hossain comes in for the injured Shakib, and Nasum Ahmed comes in for Mustafizur Rahman. Interesting that they’ve left him out and picked another left-arm spinner. Shamim bowls a bit of off-spin too, but he’s more of a batting allrounder.

Post Match Presentation.

Kagiso Rabada is the Player of the Match:

“That wicket favoured the seamers and I’m just glad that today was my day. Every time we have the opportunity to practice, we try and implement what could possibly work for us. We always train hard, and today it paid off. It’s nice to see the ball swing, especially in T20 cricket, but it wasn’t a surprise, having seen that happen in the IPL games here. There’s a bit of bounce here, but it’s a bit two-paced, some balls skid through, but it’s probably the quickest wicket here [in the UAE]. [Anrich Nortje] has been in good form for a long time now, and I’m happy for him.”

Mahmudullah:

“I think the wicket was pretty good to bowl on in the first half. We weren’t good enough in the middle. That was a poor batting display, but having said that there was enough assistance in the pitch. Taskin has been bowling well in this tournament. We had the choice between Taskin and Fizzy, but we went with Taskin because he has been bowling well. It’s frustrating, but we could have won two games. If we had won those games, it would have been a different story.”

Temba Bavuma:

“It was a good day for us. Quite a lot in the wicket early on, and KG and Nortje were able to exploit it. It excites us. The conditions reminded us of playing at home. It’s never easy when you have one guy bowling 150 and another guy in KG who’s got all the skill in the world. We wanted to get the score in a good time, but the conditions were a bit tricky. It’s a big game [against England], looking at the competition the way it is, they have had the better of us recently, and we would like to make amends.”
