Babar says:
“The way we started we were 10-15 runs short. We came back thanks to our outstanding fast bowling. Dahani stepped up with the bat which really gave us something to defend, but it’s a shame we couldn’t finish it off. We wanted to have 15 or so to defend for Nawaz, but that wasn’t to be and Pandya finished it off wonderfully.”
Rohit Sharma says:
“Halfway through the innings, we still believed. That’s the kind of belief we want to have in this group, where you’re not in the game and you still manage to pull it off. We want to make sure they’ve all been given enough clarity around what to do in the middle. I’ll take wins like this over one-sided wins.
“The fast bowlers have done very well in the last 12 months or so. We were challenged at times but overcoming those challenges will take us forward. Since Hardik’s comeback into this team, he’s been brilliant. Had a great IPL too. His batting qualities we all know, he has been brilliant with the bat since he came into the team.”
Hardik Pandya is the Player of the Match:
“It’s important to assess the situation and use your weapons. The hard lengths particularly. But you have to use them wisely. When it comes to batting, the chances I take when executing, I’m likelier to pull it off when I’m calmer. I knew they had Nawaz waiting to bowl, and while we needed 7, even if we needed 15 I would have fancied my chances. I feel the bowler is under a lot more pressure than me. I just needed one six in that final over. I try to keep things simple.”
Pakistan vs India T20I Highlights today, Sunday 28-8-2022. Group A (N), Asia Cup 2022 from Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Toss: India will bowl first.
Rohit: I don’t think the toss is that important. Having played here for a few years now, I thought having a score in front of us would be a good option. There is some grass covering and we want to exploit it. Rishabh Pant, unfortunately, misses out, we got out with Karthik. Avesh is the third seamer.
Babar: We wanted to bowl first but that is not in our hands. Three fast bowlers, two spinners and Naseem is making his debut.
Pakistan team: 1 Babar Azam (capt), 2 Mohammad Rizwan (wk) 3, Fakhar Zaman, 4 Iftikhar Ahmed, 5 Khushdil Shah, 6 Asif Ali, 7 Shadab Khan, 8 Mohammad Nawaz, 9 Naseem Shah, 10 Haris Rauf, 11 Shahnawaz Dahani
India team: 1 Rohit Sharma(capt), 2 KL Rahul, 3 Virat Kohli, 4 Suryakumar Yadav, 5 Dinesh Karthik (wk), 6 Hardik Pandya, 7 Ravindra Jadeja, 8 Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 9 Avesh Khan, 10 Yuzvendra Chahal, 11 Arshdeep Singh
After a very long time
once again the world’s two top cricket rivals are standing against each other. The last time India and Pakistan played a t20i in the ICC Twenty/20 world cup. In that match what happened everyone witnessed. India had lost the toss in that match and they batted first, they put a little above the one fifty mark total and the Pakistan team achieved the target with ten wickets remaining.
I think,
now team India with show their different approach in the batting and also in the bowling department. Pakistan already lost their attacking bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi because of his injury which is a huge loss for them. Now Naseem Shah, Shahnawaz Dahani, or Mohammad Hasnain these three new fast bowlers can perform the same as Shahen Shah Afridi? Wait and see what will happen. Toss and dew factor will remain the most important thing in this complete Asia Cup 2022.
