But! from there on a total of 146 one day international matches has been played between them before today’s match. Australia won 82 of them and India got 54 victories. So overall Australia dominated the Indian ODI team in these almost 23 years. Last time Australia played three ODI match series against India in India in March 2023. Australia won that series by 2-1.
392/4 is the highest ODI total of Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh cricket ground. Scored by India against their neighbors Sri Lanka in 2017. Interesting thing is that the second highest ODI total is 359/6 that was scored by Australia in 2019 against India. More Interesting thing is that it was scored in chasing cause of 358, Australia did it in 47.5 overs. So it looks like the Australian ODI team is also very strong against India in India.

“Personally I’m happy I’m back. First game for a little while. Good to get our first game here in India. Disappointing we didn’t get over the line. I thought a few guys batted well and a few guys bowled well.”
“It was as hot as Colombo and really humid. I think the commitment that the boys showed. We were put under pressure in the middle. We started really well with the ball. But the middle overs were tough. We’ve been talking about staying committed for 50 overs and we’ve all been working really hard on our fitness so that’s showing. I went in in a tricky situation after keeping for 50 overs, it was tough for the middle order batters starting, but had a good partnership with Surya. We kept talking about hitting good cricket shots.”
Player of the match is Mohammed Shami for his 5 for 51.
