England vs Ireland Highlights – ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 6th Match

Laura Delany: “Disappointed but fair play to England. Positives to take but we need big partnerships in the next game. Our top three batted with great intent, the next step is to keep the momentum going and give the middle order a platform. Looking forward to playing Pakistan, was a competitive match in November. Brilliant to have a family away from home, so noisy in the stand, great to have them supporting us.”

Heather Knight: “Ireland came at us hard, the spinners brought it back and we’ve got three world-class options – off-spin, leg-spin, left-arm. Alice broke the back of the chase, we made it hard but it’s two points. In T20 cricket, it’s a bit of a mantra, take the game on, we’ve got the depth to go hard and get ahead of the game. India is going to be a great game, and a slightly different venue, head over to Port Elizabeth tomorrow, have a couple of days off, and reassess.” She means GQ obvs… but doubtless can’t pronounce it (let alone spell it) so we’ll forgive her

The Player of the Match is Alice Capsey: “Loving it, to play for England in a World Cup is the dream, isn’t it? Put pressure on the bowlers at every opportunity, no complaints on my part, fits into my game and I’m loving it. We’re high on confidence, India next will be a great game. SA wickets are a little different, staying low and holding had to change my game a little bit sticking to my mentality.”

ENG WMN vs IRE WMN Highlights today, Monday 13-10-2023. 6th Match, Group 2, Boland Park, Paarl, ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023.

“Looks a good wicket, can’t wait to get out there with the bat,” says Laura Delany. “A good buzz and energy around the group. We’re playing three spinners, the rest are seamers and batters.”
Heather Knight: “Not quite 100 percent with the ball and in the field, but with the bat outstanding. Positive and entertaining. We can bowl tighter, we know that they weren’t perfect the other day. Make sure we are aggressive in the field.”
