Jos Buttler: “We wanted desperately to win the game today but of course, we’re still delighted to win the series. We got off to a fantastic start but Bangladesh fought back really well. Tamim Iqbal: “We were really looking forward to this game. We wanted to finish on a high. Still disappointed because we lost the series. The first game was a killer. Praise must go to England and the way they played. Adil bhai was brilliant throughout the series. Today was still not the best, we should have scored 270-280. But the bowling effort was fantastic. [WC prep?] There’s a lot of room for improvement still. We’re a good team in ODIs but when we go overseas and have different conditions, we have to try and do better. [T20Is?] There are some exciting players coming in. I wish them all the best.”
Shakib Al Hasan is the Player of the Match: “We’ve been very good in the last five to seven years at home. We showed a lot of character. We could have rolled over and lost three-nil but we fought to the end and luckily we got the win. We thought we were 20-30 runs short but having said that, our bowlers talked about stepping up and doing a job for the team. We expect our top-order players to score hundreds, not fifties.”
