England vs Bangladesh 2nd T20I Highlights – 12 March, 2023

Jos Buttler: “It was a different game of T20, credit to Bangladesh for out-playing us. No batter ever wants to get out but a tough wicket to start your innings on, We needed someone to stick with Ben Duckett. Outstanding bowling performance, creating pressure and defending a low score. Proud of everyone’s efforts.”

Shakib Al Hasan: “They had a very good start, but we kept our nerve, a very good team effort. In a tricky game like this, it was important to keep our nerves. Shanto … Mehidy, superb innings for the team.”

The Player of the Match is Mehidy Hasan Miraz for an excellent all-round display, in particular, his four wickets: “I’m really happy, after a long time playing T20. I was a little confused but everyone supported me. Wicket was a little turning, so help for the spinner, so good line and length. Keep the ball on the right track.”

Pitch and weather: The Shere Bangla National Stadium has a 164-run average score for the side batting first in the last five BPL matches this season. A 170-plus score should be enough for sides batting first. The weather continues to be warm and dry in Dhaka.

England vs Bangladesh Highlights today, Sunday 12-3-2023. 2nd T20I (D/N), England tour of Bangladesh, Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.

Shakib: “We don’t know what’s a good score, so we will see. We played really well in the last game but today’s another challenge. England are the world champions but the boys are very confident. We have to play 40 overs of good cricket. Play each over as it comes.”
Buttler: “We have liked to field but not having much luck with the toss. Double down on the trust we have in our game, we’re still a good side with lots of belief, looking forward to another good challenge today. Nothing is given in this game, have to earn it.”
