David Warner: Losing three wickets (in the powerplay lost it for us). This is the fifth or sixth time we have lost a wicket in the first over. And it was us throwing our wickets away. The run-out. That was a very gettable total. We just have to start well and have one of our batters bat long. Then there were fo0ur overs in the middle overs when we couldn’t even rotate the strike. You can be conservative, but when you hit a wide half-tracker to cover… It was there to be hit. If good balls get you out, it is different. We just need to hit those wide half-trackers better.
MS Dhoni: It turned a lot in the second half. Our spinners use the seam more than other bowlers. I wanted the bowlers to bowl their best deliveries but not go looking for wickets. We can still do better as a batting unit. There were a few shots you are better off avoiding on this pitch. There were a couple where the execution was not right; we can live with that. Good thing is, Moeen and Jaddu got to bat. As we get closer to the last phase, everyone has a few deliveries under their belt. My job is to hit a few deliveries. Don’t make me run a lot. Happy to contribute whatever deliveries I am getting. That is how I am practicing’s as well.
Ravindra Jadeja is the Player of the Match: As a spinner, it feels great if the ball is stopping and turning. Because we practise here, we know what length and what pace to bowl. That is our home advantage. When I bat at 7, the crowd is disappointed and chats for Mahi bhai. Imagine if I bat higher; they will just wait for me to get out.

Pitch and weather: Scores of 200 have been breached four times this season in Chennai in ten innings. The surface did show signs of slowing down last time, but there was not much turn on offer for the spinners. The surface should be better for batters in the night game and dew might also come into play. It has been cloudy in Chennai for the last few days, but rain isn’t forecast for Wednesday.
