Bangladesh vs Ireland 2nd ODI Highlights – May 12, 2023

Andy Balbirnie: Hard one to pinpoint, will sit down tomorrow and look at it. It’s a tough ground to defend, credit to them for the chase. We can take a lot of confidence. When you have a good score, you’re in the game. Can’t fault batters. Shoutout to Tector. I wouldn’t look too much into him making tons in losing causes. He’ll score more in wins. Bangladesh have a great team. We were good but not enough. We entertained the crowd, hope to do it on Sunday.

Tamim Iqbal: The support is unbelievable when we played in England. I remember our crowd outnumbered England in 2017, it’s special. Due to the ground dimensions and the wicket, we thought it was chaseable. It’s not a ground where you need to look for a boundary all the time, they will come. Kudos to Shanto. If Towhid keeps performing the way he does, he will be gold.

Najmul Hossain Shanto, POTM: I feel very happy, it was nice. I think Hridoy batted well. His intent helped me. It’s pretty cold but we can’t control conditions. We just focus on our game. We didn’t feel we were outside Bangladesh, thanks to the crowd. Hopefully they can come in the next match as well. He later thanks the crowd for coming in Bangla, his native tongue.

Tamim Iqbal: We could have batted better on a challenging wicket last game. We were in a position to put 270-280 but our bowling was great. We had a good training session yesterday, long one and the weather was fantastic. No changes
