Markram: “Not 100 per cent sure how it’s going to play but a lot of guys have played a lot of cricket here and they all say it stays the same or gets a little better. It’s been really good to be honest. The young players bring a lot of excitement and energy. Two debuts in Gerald Coatzee and Dewald Brevis.”
Marsh: “We’d probably have bowled first as well but we’ll look to put on a big total. Guess this starts the T20 journey to next year. It’s an exciting time and a lot of cricket coming up and hopefully we’ll start with a win”

Markram:

The wicket played really well and there was a bit of rust in every discipline. That’s no excuse for me and opportunities for new guys. It felt and looked a bit rusty and we have to come back strong on Friday. We want to be competitive and win games for the country.

Mitchell Marsh Player of the Match: Always nice to start a three-match series win a win and to score runs. I mean there’s a long process with injury and proud to be back and playing for Australia. Nice to contribute for the team. I thought Tim David was fantastic and the way he took pressure off me. I was playing a lot of Test cricket and missed my swing towards the end. Sangha has done well in the Big Bash and he’s a fantastic talent.
