South Africa vs West Indies Highlights – May 26, 2019 – ICC World Cup Warm-Up

Pitch report: Nice, hard carry to the keeper expected, says Michael Holding. A bit of grass, but it’s close to the batsman, so won’t affect the game too much since the batsman will be driving through that area. Not a lot of lateral movement expected. There are short boundaries, so don’t miss your length. Graeme Smith says, “not the best surface, so batsmen need to work a little harder up front. Strokeplay expected later.”

“Fresh wicket,” says Jason Holder, “so want to make good use of it. The boys have played some solid cricket, prep is according to plan and we will try to take the form into the World Cup. Last chance to finalise XIs, and to get a feel of the conditions in England. Fewer wrist-spinners in the squad, but we make up with a few 90+mph bowlers. Kemar, Allen and another one won’t play today. We’ve named XII.
JP Duminy: “Important to understand the conditions again. Will be important for some of the T20 players to get some legs in. Faf du Plessis is fine, he will bat as well. But I will marshal the teams today. Just trying a few different things.”
