Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka Highlights – June 4th, 2019 – Cricket World Cup

Gulbadin: If you look at the conditions, it’s good for the bowlers and with cloudy weather. It’s a good toss to win. We got a lot of things from the last game, especially with the batters how we struggled in the middle. I’m not looking in the past how we played against Sri Lanka. They are a good, champion side.

Dimuth: Last game we batted first and now we know how the conditions will play. It’s certainly not a 300 wicket but we know the best score on this wicket. It’s not easy [being handed captaincy so soon before tournament] but I’ve got a couple of captains in the past who give me support.

Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan Asia Cup Highlights – Sept 17, 2018

Afg v SL highlights today – Asia cup 2018 third ODI match Group B from Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi (U.A.E) Monday 17th September 2018. In the first match, the Sri Lanka team showed very poor performance in fielding and batting. There was only one player from their team who returns after a year in ODI format and took four wickets in ten overs with leaking just 23 runs. The target was 262 and Sri Lanka al team out with 124 runs. The 8th number batsmen MDK Perera was the highest runs scorer from Sri Lankan batting card, he scored 29 runs off 44 deliveries. WU Tharanga 27, RAS Lakmal 20, AD Mathews (c) 16 and MDKJ Perera † 11.

The temperature in Abu Dhabi is forecast to be a shade more forgiving than it has been in Dubai, by which I mean it is supposed to be in the 30 degrees range rather than the low forties. It is possible dew could form after nightfall, perhaps making the ball slightly harder to grip for the team bowling second. Sri Lanka will probably swap in Dananjaya for Dilruwan Perera. They might also think about replacing Dhananjaya de Silva with Niroshan Dickwella. Afghanistan may largely stick to the combination that brought them success in Ireland – though they did switch up their batting order right through that series. They may consider playing a second frontline seamer in Sayed Shirzad, in addition to right-armer Aftab Alam.
