After the victory of toss Zimbabwe chose to bowl first and it was unbelievable because in first match Sri Lanka batted first and batted so well and now in this match AG Cremer captain of the Zimbabweans took a chance again but at the first day till Sri Lanka 112 runs it was all good and everything was going in Zimbabwe favor but second last wicket partnership between WU Tharanga and DM de Silva took match away from Zimbabwe. Sri Lanka scored 290 runs on the first day with five down and DM de Silva showed performed magnificently with scoring his century off 197 balls and still not out.
WU Tharanga played a very good inning, he played good when his team needed a big partnership very badly. His wicket down at 79 runs and then 78.3 and 255/5. H Masakadza took two wickets in eight overs with 18 runs, DT Tiripano and CB Mpofu took two wickets one each of them. DAS Gunaratne scored 13 runs and still not out.
