Sri Lanka vs South Africa 3rd T20I Highlights – Sept 14, 2021

SL vs SA 3rd T20I Highlights today Tuesday, 9-14-2021 – 3rd T20I (N), South Africa tour of Sri Lanka from R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

ICC Rankings Test, ODI & T20

SL won the toss and chosen to bat.

Dasun Shanaka reckons this pitch looks better than the preview two games.
Keshav Maharaj says even though the series has been won, they’d much rather go home with a 3-0 result than a 2-1. Maharaj also says adding Mulder is a strategic call to try different combinations and lengthen the batting order. They’ve been batting with 5 pure batsmen so far, and though it’s worked, I think it’s a good move to see how the batting can be lengthened.

Post Match Presentation.

De Kock is the Player of the Match as well as the Player of the Series: Obviously, I’ve been here a couple of times and it’s about making sure getting the job done. I wouldn’t say I had a big break, I was just home for a week and picked up one or two skills. Just obviously body management going into the season (what are you focusing on)?

Shanaka, SL captain: First of all, congrats to the South Africa team. The bowling unit was good but in batting, we have to think twice going forward. Credit to South Africa bowlers as well – their spinners were outstanding. I think not many positives, but Wanindu’s bowling and Chamika’s energy…. Though we lost the series, we have the confidence of beating India [in T20Is] and South Africa one-dayers. The boys need where they need to step up.

Maharaj, SA captain: Yeah, I think credit to the boys. They played really well after the series loss in ODIs. We got two opportunities to chase and it’s good prep ahead of the World Cup. From a bowling front, we will strive for a better bowling effort in the powerplay. From a batting front, maintaining partnerships, especially in subcontinental conditions. The bubble life has its challenges and due to the pandemic, it’s a new way of life. We have to find a way to get through it and it shows in the performances on the field.
