South Africa team performance in the previous test was not good. the home team Sri Lanka tried their best and won the first test by 278 runs. which is the very big difference between the world’s second number and sixth number ranked teams. It’s absolute that the pitch was not good for bating because only one batsman survived who was FDM Karunaratne. he scored 158 not out in the Sri Lankan first innings and in the second innings again he was the most runs scorer. but all other 20 players had not read the pitch easily. After FDM Karunaratne’s 158 runs the second most runs scorer was MD Gunathilaka who scored just 26 runs.
