SL vs NL Highlights Today Friday, 22-10-2021. 12th Match (N), First Round Group A Sri Lanka vs Netherlands, ICC Twenty/20 World Cup from Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Sri Lanka win the toss and choose to bowl.
Pieter Seelaar: “It’s all good. Wasn’t quite sure (what to do), now we need to put runs on the board. Obviously, we want to leave this tournament on a positive note. We’ve got three changes. [On Ryan ten Doeschate:] Very good., even for us when he played, we were always a much better side. Even when he came back, later on, his input was very valuable. He’s done fantastically well and I wish him all the best. Great guy.”
Dasun Shanaka: “In the next group stage, we’ve got three games here so we want to be able to chase. One change, Charith Asalanka comes in for Dinesh Chandimal. We need to be consistent in this tournament, execution is very important.”

Our bowling and batting are both on track right now. We worked on our mental and physical aspects. We worked with our bowling and batting responsibilities too, that’s why we are getting success I think. Fast bowlers, Dushmantha and Lahiru, bowled very well right now. And new man Mahesh, he’s bowled brilliantly in powerplays and outside powerplay. And for myself, I always try to do the best for my team. I have variations, and I try to hit the stumps with all of them. I always try to bowl a lot of dot balls in T20s. We have three games (at this venue) in the Super 12s, and this has been good for us.
Post Match Presentation.
Pieter Seelaar: Pretty simple, Sri Lanka just outplayed us. Outplayed the whole group. Fair credit to them, they were two steps ahead. We’ve got a South Africa series in November and Afghanistan in January (for ODIs). We’ve to go back to the drawing board a bit. The pacers came out with a bit of good heat, good aggression. Leading run-scorer run out in the first over doesn’t help, pretty much sets the tone for the innings.
Dasun Shanaka: The bowler were executing really well. A real good performance from all of us. Very good bowling side, I didn’t bowl in the qualifier at all, and Charith Asalanka can also bowl. We read the conditions really well, so we know the advantages and disadvantages going forward (in the Super 12s).
