Yesterday South African team captain F du Plessis won the toss and he decided to bat first and South Africa scored 259 runs. With the loss of nine wickets on the first day in 76 overs.

After scoring 259 runs F du Plessis declared South Africa first innings and then Australia batted last twelve overs of the first day. Australia scored 14 runs in 12 overs with no wicket lost. SC Cook opener of the South African team scored 40 runs off 99 balls and out. He completed his innings with four 4s. When SC Cook’s wicket down then it was 32.1 and 95/4.

Q de Kock† scored 24 runs off 33 balls and out, KJ Abbott contributed 17 runs and T Shamsi last wicket of SA team, he scored 18 runs not out. F du Plessis showed the magnificent performance yesterday. He scored 118 runs not out and he faced 164 balls. He completed his legendary innings with seventeen boundaries and those all were 4s.

JR Hazlewood is going on top in wicket-taking from the third test. He dismissed four South African batsmen in 22 overs and he gave 68 runs. MA Starc and JM Bird these two Australian bowlers took four wickets. Two wickets were taken by each of them and remaining one wicket had taken by NM Lyon. Now Australia trail by 245 runs with 10 wickets remaining in the 1st innings.
