NZ v WI highlights today – Third one day international from Hagley Oval, Christchurch (New Zealand) Tuesday 26th December 2017. New Zealand scored 131 runs in 23 overs with four wickets down, with D/L method target was 165 for West Indies. GH Worker opener of the New Zealand team scored just two runs and out when 2.2 an early wicket for West Indies. Cottrell turns around, marches and salutes towards the dressing room. Not the best shot from Worker. It’s short and a tad wide outside off, I reckon he picked the length early but just didn’t choose the right shot. A worker tries a pull, instead of a cut, and the ball takes the under-edge onto the stumps. Playing that into the off side definitely the better option 10/1.
Toss: New Zealand , elected to bat first.
New Zealand team/playing XI
GH Worker, C Munro, NT Broom, LRPL Taylor, TWM Latham (c) †, HM Nicholls, MJ Santner, TD Astle, MJ Henry, LH Ferguson, TA Boult.
West Indies team/playing XI
CH Gayle, CAK Walton, SD Hope †, KA Hope, JN Mohammed, JO Holder (c), R Powell, AR Nurse, NO Miller, SS Cottrell, ST Gabriel.
C Munro added 23 runs to his team scoreboard, NT Broom gone with two runs, LRPL Taylor smashed 47 runs not out, TWM Latham (captain) † contributed 37 runs and out when it was 20.3 and Latham departs. Comes down, looking for something full to go over cover, but the ball is fired in, shortish. It skids on, beats the bat and Hope takes off the bails. Good defensive bowling this. 99/4. HM Nicholls smashed 18 runs off nine balls. SS Cottrell from West Indies took two wickets, JO Holder took one as same as NO Miller. Only JO Holder (captain) scored some good runs, he scored 34 runs and out. TA Boult and MJ Santner took three wickets each od them, MJ Henry dismissed two West Indians, TD Astle took one wicket.
