At stumps, day two New Zealand trail by 115 runs with 4 wickets remaining in the innings. JM Bairstow † completed his century, he scored 101 runs off 170 deliveries, he smashed eleven 4s and a maximum in his innings. When his wicket dismissed then it was 96.5 banged in short, Bairstow attempts an uppercut over the third man, and holes out to the man on the rope! The end of tremendous, restorative innings and England have a pulse. 307/10. MA Wood’s contribution at the end of England’s innings was a good help, he scored 52 runs off 62 balls. England all out at 307 in 96.5 overs. TA Boult took four wickets and TG Southee took six wickets. From New Zealand innings KS Williamson (c) scored 22, BJ Watling † 77 not out, C de Grandhomme 72.
