SA v Ind highlights today – First freedom test day three from Newlands, Cape Town (South Africa) Sunday 7th January 2018. After the end of the yesterday’s play, South Africa lead by 142 runs with 8 wickets remaining. India scored 209 runs in their first innings all out in 73.4 overs. HH Pandya was the star of the day because he smashed all South African bowlers all around the park by scoring 93 runs off 95 balls. He smashed fourteen boundaries and a maximum in his beautiful innings. VD Philander, K Rabada these two took three wickets each of them and M Morkel, DW Steyn these two took two wickets each of them.
When his wicket dismissed then it was 69.1 edged and gone for 93. Looks for the ramp over gully, but he can only nick off. Rabada strikes. Awesome innings from Pandya though. Short and wide, was there for the slot but there is some extra bounce and the top edge is found. This time, there is a hug and a kiss from du Plessis. To put this innings into context, India is still well behind SA. The game may have been over without it. 199/9.
South Africa won the toss and chose to bat first.
