After the beautiful success in six one day series now India is ready to play cricket’s shortest format against South Africa. The home team lost five one day internationals out of six now they are absolutely desperate to win this three t20 series at home. the highest total of The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg venue is 260/6 scored by Sri Lanka against Kenya in 2007 which is the third-highest total of t20I history. South Africa’s highest total of this ground is 231/7 scored against West Indies in 2015. India’s highest total here is 180/9 scored against New Zealand in 2007.
South Africa won the toss and will field first.
Virat Kohli: We wanted to bowl first as well and chase. Having said that, it looks like a gun wicket. Most of the faces in the side are the same but there are some new faces. Raina is back, Pandey will come in. Unadkat comes in for Kuldeep who hurt himself and we have Bhuvi coming back. The intensity has to be much higher in the T20s. As a batsman, personally, it’s just an extension from all the other formats. Keeping it simple has worked for us. The mood is good in the dressing room and they’re ready to do anything – bat or bowl, so that’s a good sign.
JP Duminy: In terms of stats, it’s always easy to chase in the day game. In the highveld, it’s difficult to defend. no AB de Villiers, he hurt his knee in the last ODI. Quite a lot of new faces today. In terms of debuts, we have Klaasen and Dala. It’s time for a refresh button after the dismal ODI series.
