The most recent past performance of both teams in the t20I formate is not so good. The New Zealand team’s last tour before this Icc t20 world cup was in Bangladesh. Five T20I series was held there and New Zealand won two of them, so New Zealand lost their four T20I’s out of their last six matches. India visited Sri Lanka in July 2021, played three T20I’s there, and won just one of them. Also, Sri Lanka beat India very convincingly in two matches. India lost their last three t20I’s and before that, India won their three t20I’s. So India won three T20I’s out of their last six matches.
Now both team’s lost their first match against Pakistan in the Icc twenty/20 world cup 2021. Both teams will play their second match today against each other. The winner of today’s match will have hopes alive for the qualification of the semi-final. The loser of today’s match will be in trouble, they can be out from the race of the semi-final.
IND vs NZ Highlights Today, Sunday 31-10-2021. 28th Match (N), Group 2, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup India vs New Zealand, from Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
New Zealand won the toss and will bowl first.
Dew factor, explains Kane Williamson. It’s been a long break but it now comes “thick and fast” he says and they’re yup for it. Adam Milne comes in for Tim Seifert and Devon Conway will keep.
Kohli was looking to bowl first as well. Says the batters need to give the bowling line-up more runs when they bat first. It’s been too long a break, he says, but says his team has recovered. “Surya has got a lower back spasm, Ishan Kishan replaces him. Ishan will bat at the top of the order. Shardul Thakur replaces Bhuvneshwar.”

Post Match Presentation.
Virat Kohli: Quite bizarre. I don’t think we were brave enough with bat or ball. Didn’t have much to defend but we weren’t brave when we walked out to the field. When you play for the Indian cricket team you have a lot of expectations – not just from fans, but players as well. So there’s always going to be more pressure with our games and we’ve embraced it over the years. Everyone who plays for India has to embrace it. And when you cope together as a team you overcome it and we haven’t done it these two games. Just because you’re the Indian team and there are expectations doesn’t mean you start playing differently. I think we’re fine, there’s a lot of cricket left to play.
Ish Sodhi is the Player of the Match: “I’m usually quite big on pre-match prep but with this bubble life we haven’t been able to see the ground before we get there. It was out first time here at Dubai and something we had to adapt to. I think a big part of our game is using spin in the middle. I think Southee getting that wicket late in the powerplay was important, it allowed the spinners to bowl.”
Kane Williamson: “There’s always planning to go into games. But a fantastic all-round performance from us against a formidable India side. We were able to build pressure throughout and the way the openers came out really set the platform. The balance of our attack has two spinners in it, I think the collective unit was impressive, the way they kept passing the baton. We saw some very good signs in our first match as well and we built on that. Look you play against such strong teams all the time, for us it’s about playing our game. Ish is an outstanding T20 bowler, white-ball bowler in particular. He’s been a big part and played in a number of comps, and in these conditions spin will play a part.”
